David Shaw was the project Architect for this scheme while working with design practice Sedley Place Ltd. The apartment was Grade II listed and located on Queens Gate Gardens in Kensington. The penthouse required a total renovation to shed it of its tired and dilapidated condition and restore it to its former penthouse glory. Successfully negotiating the strict planning restrictions that accompany working on a listed building, a whole additional floor was created in the roof space and significant structural improvements were carried out to transform the flat into a dramatic yet elegant living space in the heart of the highly sought after Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. A feature of the design are the over sized limestone floor tiles that create a sense of light and serenity in the minimally furnished living spaces.
