You wouldn’t believe this beautiful new home was once an unsightly block of abandoned garages. Hidden behind a large detached house in Balham that PAD were converting into flats with a local developer, we saw an opportunity to develop these unused garages into a self contained contemporary two bedroomed home providing additional housing in the much sought after borough of Wandsworth.
The new dwelling retains the form and scale of the original building but by achieving planning to create a partial basement, PAD were able to insert a double height space opening onto a secluded light-well garden with a glazed wall flooding the interior with natural light.
